We need to take this shit more seriously as a society instead of sweeping it under the rug, acting like it didn’t/couldn’t actually happen, or pretending it’s okay. It’s not fucking okay. And it’s NOT just Chris Brown; all these famous douchebags are getting away with this shit and constantly being showered with praises. People ought to be held accountable for their actions.
…I worked for two years doing at a domestic violence hotline. About 75% of my clients have had spousal abuse. I’d like these girls to spend three minutes talking to a human being who has gone through domestic violence. Just three minutes. The fact that people are trivializing domestic violence on a public forum where women and men who have been abused can see… it makes me want to cry.
